Recently, I came into a sourdough starter. This is exciting on all the levels because:
- I love sourdough.
- It's on the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan.
- It makes me feel like I'm living my best life as a homemaker.
The lady who gave me some of her starter said, "I mean, I love sourdough, but I can't make a loaf of bread every day to keep up with all of the starter!"
As I muddle my way through learning about sour dough starters, feedings, and measurements, it reminds me of Jesus' words when He instructed His disciples to pray.
He told them to ask their Father for daily bread. Every day, ask your Father for the things you need, and then trust Him to meet those needs.
I think in the process of paying off debt, I stopped asking God for our daily needs, almost as though we were meeting those needs ourselves.
"We're good over here, God. Feel free to meet someone else's daily needs."
But this virus and all of its disruptions has been the perfect reminder that we can do nothing alone. We need that daily bread.
At the beginning of April, I started praying for God to meet a specific number for our family business. It seemed like a big ask, to be honest, but looking back, God always shows me how small my faith is. Yesterday, April 28th, with a couple of days to spare, God met that goal for our family, despite the coronavirus.
HE met our daily needs, day after day, all month long, in that faith-growing way that only He can.
