In America, this elephant park couldn't exist in the same way. The railing that the elephants lined up behind was open ended on both sides. We were given a bucket of raw fruits and veggies, and the elephants sucked them out of our hands, vacuum-trunk style. Then, while the elephants and zebras roamed freely in the field, we got the chance to take turns touching them (directed by a worker) and walking among them.
It was one of those "Only in Africa" experiences, and I have about one hundred other similar pictures that could easily have made this blog post. Likely, the girls won't remember much, if anything, that happens on this trip, but I'm thankful for these pictures, and the memories we'll get to take home.
