Sally Clarkson & Ruth Chou Simons

It was Sally Clarkson's book, Life-Giving Home, that recently pushed me to acknowledge seasons in my home decor. Her books about mothering resonated with me years back, inspiring me to beauty, highlighted to the hilt, and her podcast is a refreshing example of an older woman reaching down to teach the younger generation.

Ruth Chou Simons is a watercolor artist who showcases God's Truth in her work, beautifying the words, begging the world to stop and stare. Her Instagram account is a place of calm clarity, and her voice is one crying out into darkness. She is a bright sign, pointing to Jesus.

So, when Sally Clarkson and Ruth Chou Simons came together to our area for a homeschool mom conference, my mother and I booked a hotel room and grabbed our tickets.

"The Word of God is the vocabulary God uses to speak to you." - Sally Clarkson

"Perfectionism is worshipping yourself as the goal, because you're saying, 'I want that more than anything! My Kingdom first!'" - Ruth Chou Simons

"The foundation can only be built in the beginning. Don't despise the days of small things." - Sally Clarkson

"Motherhood rarely showcases what we're good at. His strength is made perfect in weakness." - Ruth Chou Simons

I walked away with several books:
If you haven't connected to these ladies through Instagram or podcast , I encourage you to do so! We could use more Truth and Grace in our lives as mothers.

Seeking His Kingdom First,
Amanda
